Revisiting Acrylic Painting, as a Watercolor Artist

I built a custom art business around watercolor, I've painted nearly 700 commissions and illustrated a book for The White House in watercolor, and yet watercolor painting still feels new to me.
Acrylic was my medium long before watercolor painting, starting as a child, then as a teenager in art school and afterward as a young adult. But now in my mid-40s I can't even remember the last time I painted anything in acrylic.
